AUDIO EDITING
Audio and music related stuff
In this page you will find some of the best samples of what I can do when the subject is music and audio design. I am used to mix songs into electronic music, but I do also like to edit audio to create an interesting feeling when watching a video made by me.
How I edit music
When I started to become interested in audio was when I started to become interested in the way DJs and music producers make remixed versions of songs. I then learned how to use Fruity Loops Studio. In it, I realized that I could create my own sounds and change them as I pleased, to make the music exactly how I wanted.
This really fascinated me and I really liked the beautiful appearance of its UI and how easy it was to learn how to use. Every button I pressed and moved generated an immediate change in the way the audio was played. That made it a lot easier. So, I started making my first songs. Obviously, the first few songs weren't the best, but, they were certainly unforgettable.
Nowadays, I'm specializing in just making mashup mixes.
On the left you can see how the project looks like inside FL Studio.
And my creation process is very simple: I look for songs that combine and then I combine the two.
I use programs like FL Studio and Vitual DJ to control the audio and to extract the vocals from one of the songs to insert them into the instrumental of the other.
My progress
My progress
This one on the left was my first musical production that I really thought was good. That was 8 years ago. In it I really had to create almost all of its aspects from scratch: the effects, the leveling, the kick, the high hat, the clap, etc. This really was a musical production.
Obviously it still needs a lot of tweaking to be professional, like the voice would need to be in the right tone, some effects and plucks are a bit exaggerated in volume, some risers are also too exaggerated, in short... there are a lot of things about it that could be improved.
But at that time I wasn't looking to do anything professional. I was just starting out and I was doing it more for fun.
As you can see, these two songs have similar covers because they belong to the same album I released at the time. Yes, I released an album.
This one on the left, in fact, was the most listened to song of all the songs I've ever mixed. In the case of this one, I just extended it.
I saw a 3-minute video by DJ PV on YouTube and thought: I wanted to hear this song in its extended version. And that's what I did, because that version didn't exist.
But it's not just these two songs that make up the album I mentioned. Initially, I released 10 songs for this album. If you go to my SoundCloud page, you will be able to listen to 4 other tracks from this album. The other 4 are no longer there, as I had to delete them over time to make room for new songs.
The best mixes
Below you can now listen to the songs that I liked most about the final result, after making them. With emphasis on the one with the green cover, written "plumb". I remember it took me a whole month to complete it. And it was the best I've done to date. The list below is in order from best to not-so-best. But still, I believe these were the best I've done to date.
Audio editing itself
However, my audio skills are not limited to just making music. Over time, I also learned how to edit audio to put into videos. Obviously, at the beginning I wasn't very good and I didn't have professional capture equipment, neither audio nor video. Below you can listen to the audio of the second video I've ever made for YouTube.
(The audio of the first video was so bad that I wouldn't even want anyone to pay attention to it).
Warning, loud volume
This isn't the best, because, as I said, it was the second video I made in my life. I was still learning. But below you can listen to some more audio examples with sound effects that I made for other videos.
This was from one of the videos I recorded with my cousins. Although he was too young to perform excellently, he was good enough.

Normally I do video and audio editing directly in Premiere. Generally, it is enough to edit all sound effects in videos, including music and other audio parts.
On the side you see my screen with the audio tracks being edited.
But, If I need to use extra software to achieve a more detailed effect, such as changing the tone of the voice, I can use FL Studio.
If I need to remove noise from the recording to make the audio cleaner, I can use Audition.
But anyway... I hope that, with all this information, you are now a little more convinced of my abilities to manipulate audio. If you want to include me in your project team, just get in touch. Now I'll leave you with a track from a video I made for a a trailer of the internal games at one of the companies I've worked at:
